Worthing Hospital’s SCBU

Western Sussex Hospitals provide a wide variety of paediatric services and facilities dedicated to children that ensure they are treated in friendly, reassuring surroundings by health professionals who are specially trained in their care.

All our children’s clinics are run by a team of paediatric consultants and all children’s nursing care is supervised by a registered children’s nurse.

Parents/carers and the child are consulted throughout their hospital stay to enable them to have a say in decisions affecting their treatment and plan of care.

Northbrook MET

An exciting course for gifted students who wish to explore and develop their skills with a view to progressing to appropriate work in musical theatre or further study. The course programme involves the study and practice of both traditional and innovative areas of musical performance, including the study of Sondheim, Schwartz, Jason Robert Brown and other classic and contemporary innovators in the field of musical theatre. The course includes in-depth vocal training, a range of acting techniques and practitioners and many dance styles including jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, pas de deux and commercial. Recent musicals have included “Sideshow”, “Bare” and “Rent” and, in addition to this, the students are given the opportunity to present their skills at an agents’ showcase in Brighton and London.

Kompact Theatre

Kompact Theatre formed in 2009 with the idea of producing compact contemporary musical theatre. The company focus is on using material by contemporary composers who create work for smaller casts. The result is innovative work that often challenges the barriers instilled by traditional musical theatre. We premiered our first show ‘Catch Me I’m Falling’ at the Northbrook Theatre. This production was so well received that we were asked to add more dates and in October 2009 Kompact returned for a further run. In May 2010 Kompact were lucky enough to perform at Concorde 2 in Brighton for our production of ‘To Look Beyond…‘ as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival. In 2010 the company decided to strip back their productions even further to become even more ‘KOMPACT’ and so presented an evening of alternative cabaret at the newly refurbished Brighton Ballrooms in November. With the success of this performance, we continue to perform our ‘Kompact Cabaret’ evenings at venues across Brighton and London. Kompact boasts an experienced cast and production team whose training includes East 15, ALRA, The London College of Music, Arts Ed, Royal Academy of Music, Mountview and STAC. Performance, production and directorial credits span stage and screen all across the UK, Europe and further afield in Japan, USA and Australia.

Our passion and commitment makes us who we are.

We are not trying to change the world through theatre, we are trying to spread a little Kompact love and we would love you to be a part of it.

David Croucher
Magician

David has been performing magic for 15 years and thoroughly enjoys what he does. He belongs to two magic societies:-

The Associated Conjurers of East Sussex & The Sussex Magic Circle

David is also a member of the actor’s union Equity and is fully insured

He loves meeting other magicians and sharing ideas. David puts lots of hard work into practicing magic and pays particular attention to the entertainment and routining aspects.

When he starts performing close up magic for a group who have just met him, he introduces himself and likes to get every persons name.

His magic starts fast and flashy, blending in to a slightly slower pace closing on a wow finish. He has been bitten by the magic bug as magicians say, and absolutely loves what he does!!
